Don’t miss Song Circle / Live Music with Omra in Pāhoa — Thu, Sept 17

📅September 17, 2026⏱️3 min read✍️Big Island Bulletin

Voices rising, candles flicker, and a guided Equinox soundbath to close. Join Omra for a heart-opening song circle in Pāhoa, 5:30–7:30 pm.

The Hook

Ever felt a room vibrate when strangers breathe in together and sing the same note? That’s the magic of Song Circle / Live Music with Omra. As the Equinox nears, the air in Pāhoa turns golden at 5:30, plumeria on the breeze, and voices find harmony like waves rolling makai.

What to Expect

This isn’t a sit-back-and-scroll kind of show. It’s an interactive evening of original music, chants, and playful call-and-response where your voice is part of the band. Omra, a shamanic singer known for weaving medicine melodies with improvisation, guides the room from gentle hums to full-body resonance.

The night closes with a guided soundbath journey—think long, soothing tones, layered vocals, and soft textures that feel like warm rain for your nervous system. You’ll leave lighter, centered, and a little more in love with your own voice.

Special guests are TBA, which in Pāhoa often means that friend-of-a-friend who shows up and takes the roof off—in the sweetest way.

The People

Omra has a gift for reading the room—grounded, heart-forward, and fierce about community care. She builds sound like a nest: sturdy, welcoming, and ready to hold whatever you bring. This circle draws a real cross-section of our Hawaiʻi Island ʻohana—musicians, healers, first-timers, even the shy singers who swear they’ll just listen…until they don’t.

The Details

  • Date: Thursday, September 17, 2026
  • Time: 5:30–7:30 pm (doors often open a bit early—aim to settle in by 5:25)
  • Location: Sundari Event Space, Pāhoa
  • Price: $15–$20 at the door

Insider Tips

  • Bring: a water bottle, cozy socks, and a light shawl or small blanket for the soundbath. A yoga mat or cushion makes floor seating extra comfy.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early to park, breathe, and claim a spot. Center of the room catches the richest harmonics; edges offer more space to sway.
  • Go easy on perfumes—shared breathwork and scent-sensitive folks will mahalo you.
  • Cash is quickest at the door. If rain blesses Pāhoa (it often does), a light jacket never hurts.

Why We Love It

Because the first shared note always dissolves the day. One breath in, one tone out, and suddenly you remember—your voice belongs. And that closing soundbath? It lands like soft kīpuʻupuʻu mist—cleansing, balancing, and perfect for Equinox week.

Warm Close

If your soul’s been craving a gentle reset with real community, this is your Thursday. Come sing, rest, and let the sound hold you. Hope to see you there—get tickets/RSVP →

FAQ

  • Do I need to be a “singer” to join? Nope. All voices welcome—whisper-soft to whale song. It’s about presence, not perfection.

  • What should I wear or bring? Comfy clothes, socks, water, and something soft to sit or lie on for the soundbath. A light blanket or shawl is clutch.

  • Is this family-friendly? This is a quiet, reflective space. Older keiki who can settle for a soundbath usually do well—use your best judgment.

  • Can I arrive late? Life happens. Slip in quietly and join the circle with a few deep breaths. Earlier is better to catch the full journey.
