This is how to come home to your body in 2 hours: Body of Life (Wed, Aug 5, Pāhoa)

📅August 5, 2026⏱️3 min read✍️Big Island Bulletin

Live guzheng, soft evening light, and a guided somatic journey in Pāhoa. Move, breathe, and deeply rest at Body of Life, Wed Aug 5, 5:00 PM.

The Hook

Ever felt the coqui chorus slow your breath at dusk? Now picture that, with the shimmer of live guzheng strings and your whole body exhaling.

Body of Life is that rare midweek reset where movement melts into meditation, then drops you into delicious deep rest. It’s gentle, sovereign, and honestly… it feels like coming home.

What to Expect

We’ll ease in with simple Qi Gong to wake the joints and soften the edges. Think ocean-swell breaths and easy circles as the trade winds move the palms.

A quiet Zen sit follows. Nothing fancy. Just you, the evening air, and a little extra space inside.

Next comes self‑acupressure and somatic unwinding. You’ll listen beneath the surface, find the spots that ask for care, and let the body lead at its own pace.

We close in Yoga Nidra, that sweet, velvety "do nothing" place. Live guzheng music threads through the room—silvery, spacious, and soothing—like moonlight on water.

Expect about 2 hours and 15 minutes of guided practice with plenty of choice. Move or be still. Eyes open or closed. Your body, your way.

Insider Tips

  • Bring: a yoga mat or pareo, light layers (Puna evenings can be cool), water, and a small pillow or eye cover for Yoga Nidra.
  • Arrive 15–20 minutes early. Give yourself time for Pāhoa backroads and to settle before the guzheng begins.
  • Shoes off, phones silent. Let your senses have the night.
  • Sensitive to sound? Sit closer to the facilitator so you can catch cues over the coqui chorus.

Why We Love It

Because it’s spacious. No gymnastics. No pushing. Just a kind, guided arc that lets tension unspool without effort. And that guzheng? It turns the room into liquid gold. Perfect pau hana for the nervous system and a sweet way to reconnect with your own rhythm.

FAQ

  • Do I need experience? Nope. Beginners and seasoned practitioners will both feel at home.

  • What should I wear? Comfy, breathable clothes you can stretch and rest in. Layers are smart for the Nidra portion.

  • What exactly is the guzheng? A Chinese zither with plucked strings. Its tone is warm, clear, and calming—great for meditation and deep rest.

  • Can I come late? Life happens. Slip in quietly and join where we are. You’re welcome.

  • Is it okay if I’m dealing with soreness or limited mobility? Yes. Everything is invitational. You can modify or rest at any time.

  • Is this kid-friendly? Teens who can relax quietly are usually fine. Keiki who need to move and chat might find the stillness tough.

Warm Invitation
