Ever chanted with the plants while the trade winds brush your shoulders? That’s the vibe at Chanting Plants – Community Chanting Circle. It’s a monthly Kapoho tradition where voices rise with the ʻāina. Come once, or make it your reset ritual every month.

What to Expect

Picture a lush garden, late-afternoon light on ti leaves, and the soft scent of plumeria. Drums, ʻukulele, and gentle harmonies float through the palms. You’ll chant, breathe, and settle into presence. Herbal teas are poured with aloha. There’s space to share a song or simply listen. You might spot “products from the land” and nursery plants for sale—little green companions to take home.

Insider Tips + Why We Love It

We love this because it’s slow, spacious, and real Puna-style community. You arrive buzzing and leave lighter. Bring a song, an instrument, or just your voice. A small cushion or pareo helps for sitting on the grass. Pack water, reef-safe sunscreen, and a light rain layer—Kapoho showers pass fast and feel magical. Shoes that slip off easily are clutch. Bring cash or a payment app for teas or plants. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to land, pick a comfy spot, and breathe with the garden.

FAQ

  • Do I need to be a singer? No. All voices are welcome. It’s about presence, not perfection.
  • How do I get the address? DM the hosts through the event page after you RSVP.
  • Is it indoors or outdoors? Outdoors in a private garden. Expect uneven ground and natural shade.
  • Can I bring keiki? This is a gentle space. If you’re unsure, message the organizers first.
  • What should I bring? Water, sun protection, insect repellent, a seat or mat, and anything you’d like to share in circle.
  • Parking? Limited. Please carpool and park with aloha for neighbors.
  • Weather plan? Light rain usually means we keep chanting. Bring a light layer just in case.
